Rosita Stone

Rosita Stone is truly an exotic mixture, both physically and spiritually, of Mexican-Russian heritage, a smoldering Spitfire. The highly charged emotional content of her music will make more than hairs on your neck rise. She sings as though she is wrenching out her soul with both hands wringing out the notes and descending the scales, she flaunts then flees, like the sails of an abandoned ship. When asked what drives Rosita to sing like angel and dance like lucifer's disciple she remarks simply " I want my music to soothe and torment emotionally, like ruffling a child's hair: and then combing if back".

Rosita first strutted her ass confidently across a stage in grade school, much to the critical acclaim of her 12 year old sister, who, cackled "you bitch" while her sister's posse hurled Kleenex balls and literally pelted her with eggs at the following gala.

Well, the only eggs now, are Faberge, caught by her velvet-lined voice.

Rosita has painstakingly learned to become selective about her choices, after meeting more than her share of shlocky gutter spawn, claiming and drooling that they will be "the one" to launch her career. Now she is siphoning and straining with a trained, yet still vulnerable, cobwebbed - sieve.

It can be said that this young lady has gypsy blood in her veins. Having lived in South America, Malta, Mexico, Texas and of course Canada, to name a few places, has given her music a worldly blend. Her Musical path started early with dancing training in Jazz, ballet, flamenco, belly dancing and by the age of twelve she had received a scholarship to the prestigious Dupree Dance academy in Los Angeles. As a pre-teen. Rosita, both trained and performed with soild Gold choreographer Rich Rizzo " I can remember not having boobs yet and stuffing my bra to be in his shows and dance classes." Her talents were stirred like a cocoon unraveling and reflecting the beauty and angst of life. Like ripping open a womb with dull teeth, she emerged as an ever - smoldering spitfire.

Although Rosita is mainly a self-trained singer, she has had the pleasure to study with the incredible Rosemary Burns. Rosita composes mainly on piano and guitar and has a naturally rhythmic flare, ranging from a frenzied flurry of castanets to conjuring up a mantra of naked drumbeats.

Rosita Stone, a jack-of-all-trades, has played the principal character "Chita Rojas", a gun toting feisty Latino babe on the America TV series, FX. She has also shared the stage with underground legend Ani Difranco to a ribid trough of screaming lesbians....and sometimes plays the zanny and wild "Bond Girl" in the sold out "Jack the Ripper and the Dangerettes show" with gun and microphone in hand. Entertainment guru Gino Empry was spotted there to catch her performances.

Rosita's music is now standing on the edge, ready to explode, revealing the spectrum, her voice the bridge between elation and rage. Rosita and her gift of music are both the storm and the calm before.
